Now your Retina MacBook’s faulty USB-C cable will be replaced by Apple for free
Apple is in a move to replace the USB-C charge cable which has been shipped with 12-inch Retina MacBook. The affected users will get new redesigned charger for free.
This is in response to the design issues of the limited number of Apple USB-C charge cables which included with macbook computers provided in June 2015.
Due to this design issue the MacBook may not charge or only intermittently charged only if you connected to the power adaptor. It is easy for Apple team to detect whether your cable is faulty or not. In the cable there will be “ Designed by Apple in California, Assembled in China” stamp without serial number. It is a recognition for the replacement program. Any way it is a good news for the users who got faulty cable.
