PHP is set to meet the users
After a 11 years gap the first major number update from PHP arrived. The launch is arriving followed by report which state that the PHP is among the most insecure programming languages. If we check the previous history of the popular web application development platform, if is PHP 5 in 2004. Then PHP 6 released it has been shelved for reason to do with providing Unicode Support. The new PHP includes Scalar type declarations, return type declarations and a spaceship operator. The new PHP comes with a lot of security related baggage. According to Veracode’s analytics, 86 percent of PHP based applications contain at least one Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability. 56 % have at least one SQL injection (SQLi). It is considered that these vulnerability trends seen in almost every web scripting languages. Consistent 64-bit support, scalar type declarations, anonymous classes, null coalescing operator are some of the main features of PHP 7. The reports shows that PHP is trying to do regain its image. PHP 7 is part of that move for this. Lets hope PHP 7 become useful for web app lovers.
