Google’s Quantum Computer - The fastest computer made ever in the history of mankind

Google and Nasa’s combined quantum computer comes with 108 times faster performance than ordinary ones. The new computer is called D-wave.

According to Hartmut Nevan, Director of engineering at Google, an ordinary computer takes 10000 years to complete a task which the D-wave completes in a second. The D wave outperformed an ordinary computer every tasks in which the competition happened.The concept behind the quantum computer is the quantum mechanics. it has the capacity to solve any critical problems or situations in machine intelligence and materials science.

Conventional computers encode data in binary code which is called bits whereas in quantum computers it is qubits. Qubits are actually the 3 sub atomic particles - zeros, ones and the combination of the two known as ‘superposition’. The machine is currently installed at the Ames Research Center in California which is operated using a chip called “quantum annealer”.

The fact is that the real trump card is not D-wave or quantum computers, it is quantum mechanics. D-wave is just a proof of its practical applicability.Quantum mechanics is yet to unlock it treasures.
