Create your own objects with 3D Printing

3dprinting

What if the god handover you the process of creation for some time. Quite interesting isn’t it? Even Though it sounds fantacy, we could create our own objects using the new concept called 3D printing. It is one of the most spoken topic nowadays. The possibilities with 3D printing is numerous. Let's examine 3D printing and its details.

The process of making three dimensional solid objects from a digital file is known as 3D printing or additive manufacturing. 3D object creation is a layer by layer creation. Successive layers are laid down until the entire object is created. Here the layers can be seen as a thin horizontal cross section of eventual object.

The process of 3D printing starts with making a virtual design. This is created in CAD. For this a 3D modelling program (used for the creation of the new project) or with the help of 3D scanner (used to create 3D copy of an existing image) is used. This 3D printing is a costly process as the 3d scanners are very expensive devices.

In 3D printing not all printers using the same process. It differs. The main difference is seen in the process of layering and creating the final object. For creating layers some methods use melting or softening material. Selective laser sintering (SLS) and fused deposition modeling (FDM) are the most are the most common 3d printing methods using melting and softening. Stereolithography (SLA) is another popular technology in which a photo-reactive resin is cured with a UV laser. According to Standard Terminology for Additive Manufacturing Technologies the 7 categories of Additive processes are: Vat photopolymerisation ,Material jetting, Binder jetting, Material Extrusion, Powder Bed Fusion, Sheet Lamination, Directed Energy Deposition.

3d printing is a having infinite scope in this world. In future we could see a world which is full of objects made by 3D printing. It’s wings are are widespread and reaching everywhere. rapid prototyping, architectural scale models and maquettes, healthcare and entertainment are some of them. In medical field bio printing is an area where huge experiments are happening in 3D printing. Body parts, tissues can be developed using this. In future this will beneficial in organ and body parts transplantations. Metal additive manufacturing sector is another application area of 3d printing. Likewise in every nook and corner of the world the 3d printing fits. The super story of the 3d printing is yet to be told by the future.
