Google is on its way for merging Chrome OS and Android
Google going to merge the Chrome OS and Android into one. Thus the popular two operating systems will be one very soon. According to The Wall Street Journal the merging will happen next year .The journal also reports that Chrome will be folded into Android as the later is quite popular and have dominance among users. Here the combining means setting up Android to work on laptops and desktops other than mobiles. This will need big changes as well as supporting the Google Play Store.
The independent confirmation was got from the verge that a preview will be demonstrated at Google I/O next year. Google intend to reduce the number of independent platforms to maintain through this move.
The new OS is expected to release in 2017. Sundar Pichai who is now leading Google, now done this move to bring the two operating systems together. This include adding support for Android apps in Chrome OS. Even Though this support seemed limited, some Android apps are running on Chromebooks. Last month Google revealed a convertible Android Laptop called the Pixel C. Now, these things seems an early sign of the merging of the two operating systems.
It seems big changes will happen due to this merging. The popularity Android have seem to increase.
